AC Oxgangs 95 Under 17s
 vs
Tynecastle FC Under 17s

Competition: SERYFL Division 1
Venue: Meggetland 3G
Date: 17/12/2011

AC Oxgangs 95 hosted Tynecastle, knowing a victory was essential if they were to keep in touch at the top of the table. However, the visitors had not been beaten on league duty since March, and went into the tie as firm favourites.

A lot of Tynecastle pressure saw the visitors go in front in first 10 minutes, with Brendan Edwards firing in to the left corner of the goal from the edge of the box.

A well deserved goal and Tynie kept piling on the pressure but missed the chances they created, as AC stayed kept the deficit to a single goal.

Connaire Lyons had a great chance to equalise when he went one on one with the Tynie ‘keeper. However, he was denied by a great save to send it for a corner. Both teams played good football and left the supporters excited ahead of the next forty-five minutes.

Half Time: AC Oxgangs 95 Under 17s 0-1 Tynecastle FC Under 17s

Not content with a one goal lead, Tynecastle kept the pressure on, hitting the bar 5 minutes into the half and forcing Connor Lunn into a couple of decent saves.

However, AC Oxgangs came back into the game and equalised midway trough the half, David Scott slipping it past the keeper in a after a through ball from Andrew Swinney.

The game was then AC’s for the taking and the momentum continued after Jed Baxter fed David Scott for another shot which Tynecastle’s keeper saved brilliantly, but Scott finished the rebound.

Tynie were shocked, but then went full on attack, but failed to create many chances as the home defence was very well organised and cleared any danger that came. AC Oxgangs keep it together and held out for a fantastic win.
