Vale had the first chance inside 2 minutes after Craig Simpson’s free kick was headed wide by David Smith.
Vale opened the scoring in the 11th minute after some wonderful attacking football as Kevin Adams feeded the ball in to David Smith and Smith done the rest by turning Greg Dorrat before putting his shot in the top right hand from 25 yards.
Vale nearly went 2-0 up in the 19th minute as Shane Cobban sent a through ball into the feet of Stewart McIntosh but Stewart’s shot just went wide from 14 yards.
Chris Mountford had another chance for Vale a minute later but his 16 yard lob just went wide.
Vale did go 2-0 up though as Chris Mountford got clear of Kevin Lonie before Mountford saw his shot saved but McIntosh scored from the rebound.

Vale had the 1st chance of the 2nd half when Craig Simpson broke past Kevin Lonie but Simpson’s shot from 8 yards was denied by Cunningham.
Mountford had another chance for Vale 6 minutes later but he was denied again as Cunningham produced another good save.
Vale were then given a penalty in the 68th minute as Craig Simpson was fouled by Peter Douglas in which Mountford took and scored the penalty putting his shot in the bottom left hand corner.
Huntly had the last piece of action as Scott Moir was denied by Blair Tait.
