| Westdyke young guns enjoy the Dons treatment | |
|
Four lucky Westdyke youth players - Andrew Davidson, Gregor Murray, Logan McKay and Ryan SpinkĀ - benefitted from the generosity of local Aberdeen company - ICR Integrity Ltd - when they were invited along for a VIP day out at Pittodrie and also trained with the Under 20s at Aberdeen. Meeting at 10am they had a meeting with Dave MacDermid who works at Pittodrie and then Ryan, Andrew, Logan and Gregor and then whisked over to the Bridge Of Don Barracks where they met Craig Brown, Archie Knox, Jim Leighton and the 1st team before training with the Under 20s and meeting coach Neil Cooper. The lads then participated in a full morning's training session in what was a lovely day for training, the 4 Westdyke lads then recieved a surprise when former Scotland manager Craig Brown drove back to Pittodrie answering their many questions en route. Back at Pittodrie and the lads had a look at the facilities before settling down for lunch with the 1st team and the Under 20s. In the afternoon the Westdyke lads were invited to the press conference where Craig Brown and Jonny Hayes were the centre of attention for the press as Craig and Jonny prepared for Saturday's match away to St Johnstone. As the afternoon continued the lads also got interviewed in the press room at Pittodrie, the whole event for the Westdyke lads was filmed by Aberdeen and they'll recieve a video in due course from their day at the SPL ground. there's been some brilliant feedback from AFC and they "didn't look out of shape when they trained with the Under 20s" and they were a credit to the club. |
