This Saturday saw two teams in the relegation zone face each other for the second consecutive time after the previous game finished 3-2 to Clydebank last week. The team spirit was high and we were confident of nothing less than three points. However that was not the case with the game finishing 4-1 to the well organised EDFC team.
The first goal was the pick of the lot. It came from a floated free kick that the Clydebank goalkeeper should have held, but instead punched it to the edge of the box. It ended up being caught on the volley from EDFC's number 10 who smashed home.
Clydebank's first goal came from a driven in corner by the number four which was met by the David Black the 6ft 5 centre back to finish home.
Half Time: Clydebank BFC 1-1 EDFC
Ten minutes into the second half some disorganised defending saw Clydebank concede two sloppy goals within 10 minutes which brutally damaged the confidence in the team when we needed it more than ever.
With the team falling apart we made three subs to try make it a home win and collect the three points, but that was not going to happen. With five minutes remaining a poor back pass allowed the EDFC striker an easy one-on-one with the Clydebank make shift keeper; who is our centre forward. The striker just drifted round the corner and neatly rolled it in giving his side the three points and an easy away win.
