It was a wet and soggy morning, however the pitch was in good condition apart from a few muddy spots.
Larkhall got the game underway, both sides were looking to get a grasp of the match and early stages of the match were hectic.
However, Larkhall began to settle and started to keep possession of the ball more, creating a few chances which were not taken.
Lenzie made Larkhall pay for not taking their chances as they got themselves in front through Thomson.
Soon after this Lenzie stretched their advantage just before half time, making it 2-0 to the away side courtesy of another Thomson strike - this time from the spot.
Larkhall pulled a goal back before the break through Taylor, to keep the contest alive.
Half Time : Larkhall United 1-2 Lenzie YC
Both teams started the second half creating a few half chances and seeing an equal share in possession of the ball.
Larkhall got themselves right back into the match, catching the Lenzie defence out and Taylor applying another good finish, 2-2 and game on.
The game began to get very tense, with both sides keen to get themselves in front and fighting for victory.
With the closing stages upon us, the winning goal came. Larkhall's miller executed a fine free kick to put his side in the lead for the first time.
Lenzie went in search of an equaliser, but the Larkhall defence stood strong to the test and hung on, earning themselves an excellent victory.
