Fifth placed Strathaven hosted second place Mossend in the Lanarkshire B league. A tough game was expected for the Dynamo's, with Mossend on an excellent league run, and having the best defence in the league.
Right from the off they proved this, scoring 3 into the Dynamo's early on, before Strathaven pulled a goal back after the goalkeeper saved well from a shot, only to see the striker put away the rebound.
1-3 down and the Dynamo's were back in it, however this was not the case for long, as a corner from Mossend managed to evade everyone and hit the back of the net.
They then added a fifth just before the half time whistle.
Half Time: Strathaven Dynamo 1-5 Mossend
The second half started at a much slower pace, and it was Dynamo who got the first goal. A corner was well punched away by the goalkeeper, but a rocket shot into the bottom corner gave Strathaven a small chance. 2-5.
The chances were there, but they were not being converted, and Mossend showed why they are at the right end of the league when they added a sixth and seventh during the later stages of the half.
Dynamo got a consolation right at the end, which made it 3-7.
An entertaining, high-scoring game, with Mossend taking their chances and Dynamo beaten by a good team but the chances need to be finished when they're there.
