On a very windy morning both teams battled hard in the very windy conditions.

The opening exchanges were evenly matched but after the game settled down Broomhill took control of the game and started to create some decent chances with Jack Muir sending in some teasing crosses from the left into the danger area. However, Lochgelly's goalkeeper was having an outstanding game to deny Broomhill the opener.

But, he could not keep a Broomhill goal at bay forever, after a scrappy exchange in the box saw Broomhill go 1-0 up. The ball bobbled about in the penalty area and Mitchell Donohoe was first to react to the loose ball to stab the ball over the line.

The remainder of the first half saw Broomhill control the game but with Lochgelly not laying down.

The second half started with Broomhill creating chance after chance and it was inevitable that Lochgelly's rear guard action would eventually be breached and mid way through the second half Jack Muir latched onto a great cross in from the right and buried the ball in the bottom right hand corner.

Broomhill were not content with their two goal lead and seeked to get another, creating numerous chances.

Late in the game Calum Hughes who had been outstanding in the middle of the park was brought down after a mazy run past four defenders and Gio Vezza calmly slotted the resulting penalty to make it 3-0 and the game ended shortly afterwards, with Broomhill booking their place in the next round.
