A still night in Menstrie was the venue for this FVFDA League tie between Alva Swifts and Inverkeithing United.
Alva went flying out the traps and took the game to Inverkeithing from the first whistle.  Right away it was noticeable Finlay Mackenzie was up for this as he made four or five penetrating diagonal runs to cause Inverkeithing problems in the first five minutes.
With ten minutes gone Fin was threatening the Inverkeithing penalty area again when an awkward looping ball found its way over the Inverkeithing keeper finding Fin the first to react and nudge the ball over the line to put Alva in the lead.
Alva continued to pressure the ball and space in the Inverkeithing half and were soon threatening again.  With fifteen minutes gone Fin was threatening again with another diagonal run and fired the ball into the Inverkeithing six yard area.  The ball was cleared out to the eighteen yard line and found Corey Keenan hammering a shot straight at the Inverkeithing goalkeeper for it to rebound and find Craig Brown coolly rifle another shot past the keeper to extend Alva's lead to 2-0.
Soon Alva went at it again and continued to take the game to Inverkeithing.  Again, Fin was threatening the Inverkeithing goal and fired a shot low right to find the keeper make a good stop.  Unfortunately for the keeper the rebound found Corey Keenan just inside the box and he made no mistake with an unstoppable shot low into the Inverkeithing goal to give Alva a 3-0 lead.
The rest of the first half played out without much happening apart from an unfortunate red card for Inverkeithing after a poor tackle on Corey Keenan.
Half Time: Alva Swifts 3-0 Inverkeithing
Alva started the second half in the same manner as the first and continued to take the game to Inverkeithing.  Composure was finding its way into Alva's game and they were now moving the ball better from defence through midfield.
Fifteen minutes into the second half and a piercing diagonal ball from midfield was latched onto by Fin.  As he approached the penalty area he picked his spot and unleashed a rocket of a shot low right into the Inverkeithing net to make the score 4-0 for Alva.
Alva were relaxing into their game and moving the ball well.  As tiredness crept in the game was beginning to stretch and the Alva midfield were finding Fin and Dylan with penetrating runs down the right side.  With fifteen minutes to go Fin was threatening the Inverkeithing goal again and had a shot saved from the keeper only to see it fall at the feet of Jack Morrison to convert and make the final score Alva Swifts 5-0 Inverkeithing United.
A good competitive game played in excellent spirit by both teams and all players.
