Colts and Drumsagard lined up at the Hamilton Palace 4G for their second league meeting of the season. Drumsagard having won the first game 2-1.
Both teams started the game brightly with Drumsagard playing a very good passing game, Colts were not getting close enough to their men. Drumsagard took the lead when the ball was played into the box and their forward finished with ease.
Burnhead then had a sustained period of pressure and made 3 or four good chances which they couldn't take. Drumdsagard punished them when they were awarded a free kick in midfield which should have went Burnhead's way, the ball was delivered into the box and their forward was brought down by Scotty for a stonewall penalty, the Drumsagard forward fired the penalty low and hard into Scotty's right hand corner.
Drumsagard were now well on top and scored a great third goal, their right sided forward skinned the Colts defence, got to the bye line and cut the ball back and their centre forward smashed home from six yards to make it 3-0.
Worse was to come from the Colts when they lost the ball cheaply at the back and the Drumsagard forward ran on to side foot home, the first half finished 4-0 to Drumsagard.
Half Time: Drumsagard 4-0 Burnhead Colts
Colts came out fighting in the second half but it was Drumsagard who got a fifth with a great strike from the edge of the box into the top corner, after the colts had failed to clear their lines.
Colts then decided to make a game of it and got a goal back when the hard working Declan Campbell put pressure on the Drumsagard defender who scored an O.G. to make it 5-1.
Colts were visibly lifted and took the game to Drumsagard, Caldo played a great through ball to Lewis Murdoch who fired a great shot into the keepers bottom right hand corner to make it 5-2.
Colts then hit the underside of the bar when Declan outstripped the defence and lobbed the keeper. Another great run from Declan forced the keeper to make a good save when Declan tried to lob him.
Coltsthen made it 5-3 when M.O.M. Callum McCaig fired home a direct free kick from 30 yards beating the keeper all ends up in his top left hand corner.
Colts were then awarded a penalty when Aiden Brown was brought down in the box, he took the kick himself but the keeper made a good save.
The game finished 5-3 to Drumsagard who played some great football especially in the first half. Credit to the Colts for mounting a tremendous fightback in a game of football which was a credit to both teams.
