Under-19s Challenge Cup Semi FInal

06 April 2014

A brilliant Brian McAdam hat-trick and a double from fellow frontman Michael Gray fired Sauchie into the first Cup Final of the season.

Sauchie lost captain Fraser to illness early in the match but striker Gray settled their nerves when he beat the off-side trap and fired home on 28 mins.

Grahamston almost equalised soon after but the crossbar came to the Junior's rescue.

Gray then punished Grahamston and doubled the lead with another smart finish low into the right hand corner. Right on half-time a superb Begg pass was converted by McAdam and Sauchie were 3 up at the break.

Half Time: Sauchie Juniors 3-0 Grahamston

Sauchie showed real composure in the second half with the back four of Speirs, Devanny, Lindsay and Burke well in command meaning keeper McNie was rarely called into action.

Brian McAdam put the game to bed on 70 mins when he showed good skill in the box before blasting home.

Gray and Stanfield had chances to make it five but both shot wide of the target. Right on full-time Scobie's good play set up McAdam and he got his well-deserved third goal.

A real squad effort considering several players were clearly struggling with illness/injury but the reward of a Cup Final to now look forward to.

Full Time: Sauchie Juniors 5-0 Grahamston
