U15's Central Region Cup
11 February 2014
Antonine welcomed Drumsagard for this last 16 regional cup tie. They had Fraser James out injured and suffered 2 late call offs.
Antonine dominated the early exchanges  and after 5 mins nearly opened the scoring when Owen Gallacher cut in from the left beat a couple of defenders and shot narrowly wide.
Next to come close was Mark Sweeny who fired narrowly wide from 16 yards and had a 30 yard volley skim the bar. Calum Maxwell then curled a free kick wide.
Drumsagard then had a spell of the game on top but only carved out a header wide from a free kick for all their possesion.
Against the run of play with 10 mins before half time Antonine opened the scoring when Gallacher got on end of a slack pass and played in Adam Boyle who slotted home his 15th goal this season. Gallacher almost made it two soon after but shot wide.
Half Time: Antonine BC 1-1 Drumsagard FA
Drumsagard came out flying at the start of 2nd half and on 10 minutes in equalised when they bundled home a free kick crossed in from the right.
It was now end to end stuff with both teams going for it. The antonine defence and holding midfielders were keeping Drumsagard to long shots that Andy Carroll dealt with comfortably.
Drumsagard keeper was deserved of praise himself when he pulled off a world class save after Maxwell crossed for Chris Donaghy to fire what he thought was a 2nd goal but the keeper touched it round post.
It looked like the second goal had arrived when a Brendan Kelly throw was flicked on by Gallacher for Donaghy, only for his volley to come off the bar with the keeper beat.
At the other end Carroll had a great save himself diving low to his right to deny Drumsagard a second goal.
With 8 minutes to go a defensive miskick allowed Gallacher to lob the keeper from 20 yards and put antonine 2-1 up.
Drumsagard then threw everything to try and draw level with Antonine. However, it was Boyle who almost got the fourth goal in the game, but the keeper saved comfortably.
Drumsagard had a couple of chances but thankfully Darren Wallace and Brendan Kelly got blocks in while in the last minute Andy Carroll pulled of a great save and thankfully the rebound hit the post.
Antonine held on and will now play Forth Valley leaders Riverside in the Quarter Final Stage of the competition.
