PGBC 13's 4 Stamperland 2

Port welcomed Stamperland to Parklea on Saturday morning.

With the game barely started Port saw Josh Patton break up play before passing to Ryan Phillips, Ryan turned before sending the ball through to Declan Adair but his shot went just past the post. Declan didn't  have to wait long to get on the scoresheet, Brandon McCabe sent a free kick into the box and after a poor clearance Declan was on hand to send a good strike past the keeper from the edge of the box. Port doubled their lead when Ryan Phillips cut the ball back for David Curley who made no mistake in putting it in the net. Port then fell asleep and on a rare attack Stamperland got the ball in the box where despite two Port defenders sliding in the Stamperland strikers shot deflected off a Port leg and left Lewis McClure stranded in the box goal. Ryan Phillips picked the ball in the centre circle and sent a great switch wide right to Declan Adair who in turn made a good run before getting the shot away to get his second of the game.

Port came out in the second half looking to put the game to bed. Plenty of chances fell Port's way. A good pass from Brandon McCabe saw Scott Marshall see his shot come back off the post. Brandon McCabe then sent a good corner into the box where Scott Marshall again saw the ball hit the woodwork, this time off the bar and the ball seemed to bounce over the line but the referee said no. Scott Marshall again had a good shot at goal but this time the Stamperland keeper pulled off a good save and after collecting the spills Jack Andersons shot was again save by the Stamperland keeper. Port did manage to get another goal after a long ball over the top by Curtys Footitt was met by Ryan Phillips who controlled well before chipping the ball over the Stamperland keeper. Port again fell asleep to let Stamperland score, this time a free kick saw the striker one on one with Dimitris Cameron who had no chance to save the resulting shot.

Referees Man of the Match (joint) - Ryan Phillips/David Curley
