The final match in group A pitted leaders Milngavie against Letham Tangerines, Letham had already been denied qualification through their two earlier defeats but would be looking to return to the northeast with their pride intact and some points on the board, unfortunately for them Milngavie were looking to secure top seeding for the next round and when the ball was rolled across the box to Mitchell Duffy his pile driver of a shot flew past Ben McKenzie with barely minutes registered.
Soon after Joe Slee met a swinging cross from the right and it was two nil within ten minutes as he was able to steer the ball home despite the best efforts of the tangerines defence.
Duffy then showed great deftness of touch to tee himself on the edge of the box but this time his well struck shot was held by Craig McGlashan missed a glorious chance at the other end to bring his team back into it.
Half Time: Milngavie Wanderers 2-0 Letham Tangerines
Milngavie started the second half with the same purpose in which they began the first and early skill from Kyle Campbell saw him create and opening for Scott simpson to strike one but his shot failed to trouble McKenzie.
But it wouldn’t be long before they stretched their lead and quickfire strikes from Scott Hutton and Kyle Campbell put the Glaswegians out of sight.
A late effort from Joseph Gillespie would give the score line some respectability as he lofted the ball beautifully over Jamie Forrester from outside the box to make it 4-1 but at the end of the match it would be Milngavie who were looking forward to the semi-finals whilst Letham could only look forward to next year.
