PGBC 2004s Orange

The boys had a fight on their hands against St Mirren this weekend, but it was played out in a spirited fashion. Port took an early through Marc McDonald and then Niall Brady added to the tally with a double. Some sloppy defending saw the saints score a few goals before a fine ball through from Peter Ingram to Lyle McDonald saw the wee man released on goal and his composed shot hit the back of the net. The Port started much better than last week, deservedly taking the lead, they controlled the game well and only a short spell in the 2nd half let them down. Overall a much improved performance, with all boys playing well in their positions. Once again the support from the parents is fantastic.

PGBC 2005s Black

The boys played their parents in a fun match at Parklea on Saturday, all boys getting a great run out on the day playing some good football scoring some good team goals, could have been more comfortable for the boys on the day had it not been for the mums in the parents team. A good day had by all and this match giving the parents a wee idea of just how hard the boys work every Saturday. Players and coaches thank B.Buick and sons (bodyshop) for continued support.

PGBC 2003s

The 2003s upped their game this weekend with a good solid sperformance against a storng Port Juniors side. The boys pulled off a nice victory by playing some clever, neat football, from the back Luke Cunningham pulling off some great saves through to Brendan Thompson in defence, and also Conor O’Rourke and Lewis Leitch throughout the park.

PGBC 2001s

Port played host to Glentyne in The Community Stadium, Parklea on Saturday morning.

Port started the match strong and the first chance fell to Declan Adair but the keeper saving his shot from the edge of the box. A good run from Jack Anderson saw him brought down just outside the box to win Port a free kick, Ross Devine then laid the ball off from Brandon McCabe to score with a good strike. Jack Anderson was causing the Glentyne defence all sorts of problems and won Port a penalty, up stepped Declan Adair but the Glentyne keeper managed to save. Ross Devine then got on the end of a Declan Adair corner to put Port further ahead. Just before half time Jack Anderson capped off a fine first half by getting round the keeper to slide the ball home.

Port seemed to slow down in the second half with Glentyne still not causing any real problems. The Glentyne keeper then had a good save from Declan Adair's shot from just out side the box. Another Port attack was cut out by the Glentyne Defence but the ball fell to the oncoming Shaun Grierson to crash in a good strike from outside the box. Lewis McClure pulled off a good save with the game coming to a close but the ball hit off Shaun Grierson and into the net to give Glentyne a goal.
