Murieston United of Livingston hosted Blantyre of South Lanarkshire in the fourth round of the SYFA Challenge Cup, with a plate in the last sixteen at stake.
Murieston had beaten Armadale SC and Bathgate Colts in the local rounds, before triumphing away to Campsie FC at the previous hurdle. Blantyre had narrowly beaten Renton Craigandro in round three, following previous successes against Blair Thistle and Carluke.
The game kicked off on a rainy Saturday morning with the first half being a real midfield battle. Blantyre pressed for the whole half but the Murieston defence stood strong. The best chance of the half fell to Blantyre's Stuart Simpson but his effort was well saved by Calum Brown.
Murieston also pressed but never had a good sight of the goal, due to Blantyre's strong defence. That was how the first half would finish.

Blantyre started the second half strongly, and their pressure soon paid off when Riess Mulvanney headered home the first for Blantyre in the 39th minute.
The visitors continued to press forward and only six minutes after their first goal, Dylan McStravvoch slotted the ball past the goal keeper to make it 2-0.
Murieston had a good chance thriugh Jack Robertson but Jason Bruce was equal to it.
Blantyre made it 3-0 when a Luke McPartlane strike rocketed into the top corner, after a good double save from Calum Brown in the 60th minute.
Blantyre finished the game off with 2 minutes to go with a goal from James O'Donnelly and the game finished 4-0.
