(To the tune of Sunshine on Leith, by The Proclaimers)
Our hearts weren’t broken. Our girls weren’t broken One down, sorrow, sorrow, sorrow We weren’t for choking, with effort we’re soaking Laura saw it, she claimed it She smashed it, She scored it Our tears were drying, the Leith girls kept trying Their corner, thumped home, 2-1, half time Second half we’re trying, no chance of crying With great skill, and fine-ness Our girls had no shyness While they’re worth their room on this earth Rose girls will fight for you While the Chief put Sunshine On Leith Lucy crossed it, Becky smashed it We were level, and pushing forward The game was quite open, no effort was token No Sorrow, no sorrow, no sorrow, no sorrow With our pressure up-soaking, Leith girls weren’t broken Beth proved her worth, as she dived to the earth The ball bounced off of her shoe While the Chief put Sunshine On Leith I'll thank him for a great game From the Rose Girls, ‘cos they’re magic. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. An exciting, skill-packed and thoroughly enjoyable game today between the Linlithgow Rose Whites and a very much improved Leith team saw the game end all square – probably on balance a fair result. With apologies to Anna, Rheanna, Ellie, Kirsty and Zoe, I just couldn’t crowbar you name into the song. (Apologies also the Proclaimers for massacring the greatest song in the history of football)
