Celtic Tayside U17 4 Aberdeen East End United 4

Excellent performance from Celtic Tayside who played this U17 North League game with only nine players which did not include a goalkeeper, the team had a marvellous 1st half coming in at the break 3-1 up with goals from Stacey McFadyen (2) and the other from Kayleigh Brough, both these girls are doing very well at this level when you consider they are still age eligible to play at U15’s.

We knew Celtic Tayside would have weary legs in the second half because of only having the nine players and Aberdeen United having the full eleven and 3 subs to back their tired legs up.

Aberdeen pegged them back to 3-3 but Celtic Tayside’s never say die spirit helped them regain the lead 4-3 with a terrific 2nd goal for Kayleigh Brough only to see a last minute goal from Aberdeen thwart what would have been a well deserved 3 points.

This was a fantastic effort from the Tayside team who have now actually played five U17 fixtures winning 4 and drawing the other which is a huge achievement considering they have played most games under strength and without a recognised goalkeeper.
