Syngenta Juveniles fired four past Armadale Calcio to lift the FVFDA League Cup at the Falkirk Stadium.

The opening goal arrived within five minutes when Syngenta’s TJ Kennedy received the ball in field and hit an effort with the outside of his boot, which spun into the top corner.

On nine minutes, it should have been two. Rhys White picked the lock with a fine through ball for David Johnston but the winger prodded the ball just wide of the target.

Minutes later Johnston was back on the ball as he surged down the wing and found Ross Fraser in the box with his back turned to goal. Fraser managed to turn and shoot but the goalkeeper palmed the ball away.

The Dyes had a second in the 16th minute when they won a free-kick in a deep position. The ball was launched into the area and Ryan Duffy beat the goalkeeper in the air to nod home.

Armadale’s Declan Fulton almost pulled one back just before the half when he robbed the fullback and cut inside but his fizzing effort was turned over by the goalkeeper.

Calcio halved the deficit within a minute of the restart and it was Konrad Spalony who got on the end of a cross from Robbie Dougall to drill home.

However, Syngenta restored their lead on 60 minutes when Jamie Forrester’s inswinging corner was met by the head of Kyle Ewing to make it 3-1.

Two minutes later, the Dyes missed a guilt-edged chance to wrap up the game when Fraser was played through on goal by a long ball. The forward dragged his effort wide with the goal gaping.

In the 71st minute, Armadale’s Mark Smith whipped in a teasing ball from the right which was headed on to his own post by Callum Morton.

In the latter stages of the match, the game was end-to-end but Calcio were dealt a crushing blow in the 79th minute. Neil Anderson was on hand to sweep home from close range as the ball was cut back across goal from the byline.

The Dyes held on to cap a successful season with the league cup and send their spectators home happy.
