Bishopbriggs Academy were victorious in a close match up against St Peter the Apostle High School, at Celtic Park, for the Glasgow Schools' FA final. It was a hotly anticipated game, with both teams being evenly matched, but in the end Bishopbriggs just edged it by 2 goals to nil as goals from captain Gregory Molloy and Jordan Armstrong sealed the victory. When St Peters look back at the game it could have been very different if they had taken their chances in the first half.
The game was very tense and even early on with only a couple of chances coming each sides way. Bishopbriggs had the first real chance, in the 15th minute, as Cameron Gauhl's shot, from about 25 yards, just creeped past the post.
Undoubtedly the best chance of the half fell to St Peters as some great play by the team led to Connor Higgins being able to whip a ball in for Jamie Ross who's header hit the post when it seemed certain that he would score to give the Clydebank team the lead.
Ross continued to threaten as, just before half time, his shot from outside the box cannoned off the bar. This was the last chance of an evenly balanced first half with the score line still 0-0. There was a chance for both sides to step up and take control of the match. St Peters will probably count themselves unlucky to not be in front but the woodwork denied Ross in what was the best chance of the first half.
