Goals from Ellie Kane, Kirstie McIntosh, Kim McApline, Chelsea McEachran and Morgan Cross saw Central race to victory, in Sunday’s early kick off at Toryglen.
Central lined up in a 3-5-2 formation, a decision that proved pivotal. The back three of Katia McKenna, Shaney McCabe and Zoe Young were resolute throughout, nullifying any rare City attacks.
The central midfield three of Kane, Gallagher and McIntosh were instrumental in the win, and were supplemented by Player of the Match Kim McApline and Rhianne Ferguson on either flank.
Up front was the strike partnership of McEachran and Cross, who each netted in the second half.
McAlpine, occupying the left channel, was the stand out in both halves as Central’s most attacking outlet.
Central were much the dominant side, with 19 shots on target compared to City’s three. Similarly, Central had eight shots off target, with City managing three attempts.
For City, they will look to put today’s disappointment behind them and kick on with their impressive league campaign.
