Budhill Orange are peeled open by PF Academy

Written by  Budhill Orange 2005's

Fixture: Budhill Orange v PF Academy 2005's
Venue: Stepford Football Centre
Date: Saturday 31st October 2015
Two cracking 2005 teams met at the Stepford Football Centre and played out a superb footballing spectacle. This was out toughest match to date for the Budhill side against a strong side in PF Academy, who were showing strength in their tackles right from the get go.
PF Academy took the lead through a well taken goal, in a first half that was limited to only 1 goal due to both keepers having fantastic games between the sticks. The score line could of been something ridiculous if it weren't for the quality goalkeeping on show.
Half time came and went, and we had to compete with the physicality of PF and for most of the game was a heated affair, something that our players will learn by and will have gained a lot from today.
Just after the interval, Budhill scored twice to make it 2-1 and were playing superbly well, showing some cracking ability. As the second half wore on however, the lads seemed to lose their way in the midst of a sporting battle and conceded the equaliser midway through the second half.
As both teams pushed to try and win the game, PF Academy scored 2 quickfire goals to steal the win in what was a very entertaining game for all spectators and I'm sure the players would of enjoyed being involved, regardless of the result.
Overall we were really pleased by our performance today. Strong, commitment and really good teamwork on show. This is the first defeat of the season for Budhill and this will keep the boys grounded to ensure a fresh approach next week. It's not the winning or losing but the attributes the team showed today and they also displayed some great technical ability. 100% committed, Well done lads.
