Airdrie 16s win double after successful season

Airdrie United 16s completed triumphed in both league and cup competition this season. They are delighted to have won the West Lothian AYFC 16s A Division, dropping just eight points throughout their campaign and going unbeaten. They were presented with the league trophy (pictured, right) last weekend and coaches, players and supporters alike are all very proud of the achievement.

In addition, they have just won the Arthurlie Juniors football tournament in Barrhead. Coming up against Rangers SABC in the final, the team triumphed 4-0 to lift the trophy for the second season in a row. The weather was terrible but the boys were pleased to retain the title.

Airdrie reached two further finals this season and were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Bo'ness United in the County Cup final. They also completed in the Ayr International Tournament, losing out by a single goal against Croftfoot.

All in all it has been a great season with a great bunch of boys and they are already looking forward to next season!
