Fixture: Stirling Albion Junior Academy v Milton Reds
Competition: U17's Forth Valley Football Development League
Date: 11/04/15
On Saturday 11th April Milton Reds 1998s under 17’s were away to Stirling Albion Young Reds in a League match. The game was played at Stirling High School on the grass at Williamfield.
After the break for the Easter holiday the teams were looking forward to playing in good weather conditions but the wind was blowing and the players also were battered when the sky turn black and then the hailstones came raining down. Despite the overhead conditions there was plenty of good football on show.
In the 10th minute Milton worked a short corner and from the final delivery top scorer Kros Brown headed the opener.
Kros added a second soon after as Milton piled on the pressure.
In the 22nd minute Milton added goal number 3 when forward Callum Brown showed great control before firing in a left foot finish into the back of the Stirling goal.
At this moment the sky turned black and the heavens opened up to produce a fierce hailstorm but great credit to all the players who just carried on and battled their way through.
Milton added a fourth when team captain Ross leary fired home from a free kick.

At the break Milton coach Kenny Brown congratulated his players on a fine performance but warned them that they should expect Stirling who would now be playing with the wind at their backs to battle hard to try to get into the match.
Milton continued to dominate play even when playing into the wind.
Milton added two more goals in the second half through a Kros Brown free kick and a final goal for his strike partner Callum Brown.
With central defender Ross Leary outstanding alongside Rhys Robertson and mid-fielder Blair Robertson having a fine match Milton were always in command and with forwards Kros and Callum both lethal in front of goal the result was never in doubt.
Stirling fought hard and worked tirelessly with central defender James Letford deserving great credit for his defensive display.
