Fixture: Mill United Colts v Moorlands Reds
Competition: Under 17's Central Region Cup Semi Final
Date: 08/03/15
Moorlands booked a fourth consecutive Regional Cup Final spot after an epic contest.
The Uddingston side began brightly but were dealt a blow in just ten minutes when attacker Dean Robertson limped off with an ankle injury.
Moorlands then came close as a Mark Skelton effort was scooped off the line by the Mill Utd 'keeper.
Halfway through the first half, Colts, officially the home team in the tie, struck a major blow.
A corner was only partially cleared and a Colts player pounced on the ball to shoot his side ahead.
Moorlands responded with a penetrating run by Sean Monaghan which ended with a penalty claim turned down by the referee.
Half Time: Mill United Colts 1-0 Moorlands Reds
After the break, Moorlands took the game to Mill in search of an equaliser but found the Colts' three-man central defence in resilient mode.
Several half-chances came and went and Colts looked to be heading through until a dramatic twist in the final minute.
Moorlands' full-back Jonnie Walker dinked a ball over the top of the Mill defence and team-mate Skelton reacted brilliantly to poke the ball past the advancing 'keeper.

The 30-minute extra period brought further drama.
Mill re-took the lead when an in-swinging corner eluded everyone and ended up in the Moorlands net.
But the Reds responded once again - Walker’s ball into the box found Monaghan who was fouled by a defender, earning a penalty.
Paul Mockus duly stepped up to equalise and take the tie to a shoot-out.
After Extra Time: Mill United Colts 2-2 Moorlands Reds
Both goalies made a great start to the penalty decider by pulling off saves from the opening kicks.
Moorlands’ Lloyd Fallon then made another stop before Mockus put the Reds ahead.
Mill missed their next penalty and Skelton’s counter earned a two-kick lead for Moorlands.
Although Colts converted their fourth kick, Moorlands’ Jonnie Walker stepped up with the chance to win the tie.
Keeping his cool, the full-back stroked the ball into the corner of the net to send his team into the final.
The outcome was cruel on Mill who deserve great credit but Moorlands will feel their resilience won the day.
