Antonine blow away Blairdardie with second half performance

Fixture: Antonine v Blairdardie
Competition: Under 16's DFD League
Venue: Barrfields

The conditions at Barrfields were cold, wet and windy. Not exactly conducive to good football though both teams did their best to play passing football throughout. 
 
Antonine rang the changes to get the full use of squad. They got of to the worse start when waiting on a foul to be awarded for a challenge on adam boyle they switched off and Blairdardie took advantage to open the scoring on 2 minutes with their striker slotting past Andy Carroll.
 
Antonine were awarded a penalty in the 10th minute when Scott Hutton was pulled down, Liam Manley calmly fired home to even the score.
 
Donaghy and James both came close before in the 20th minute, Hhutton crossed for Fraser James to fire home, Donaghy came close again before 5 minutes from half time.
 
Dom Cairney played in Boyle who strode forward, rounding the keeper to make it 3-1 with his 20th of the season.

It was all antonine now and no great surprise that the 4th came in the 50th minute when Boyle played a delightful ball in for James who blasted home.
 
Goal number 5 came in the 55th minute when a corner wasn't cleared and Scott Hutton scored from 12 yards with his 4th of the season.
 
James then hit the post as antonine piled on the pressure. James was then bundled over in the box on the hour mark and Manley slotted home his 3rd of the season to banish Antonines penalty woes that seen them miss 6 last season.
 
Two minutes later Danny Hamiltons cross picked out Dom Cairney who made it 7-1.
 
James then hit the post again, with Brendan Kelly coming close as well from a Donaghy corner.
 
8-1 came on 67 minutes when Owen Gallacher beat his man on the by line scored from a near impossible angle.
 
Eight minutes from time Joe Mckendrick played in Gallacher and he beat the keeper with his 13th of the season to make it 9-1.
 
Two minutes from time Gallacher played in Fraser James who completed his hat trick with his 9th of the campaign to complete the scoring.
 
A good performance from Antonine in testing conditions were the whole squad put a case forward for a starting berth, next up is Drum United in a fortnight.
