Fixture: Larkhall United v Stonehouse BC
Competition: Under 13's Central Lanarkshire Youth FA
The first game both teams have competed in two months started off brightly as Larkhall in orange strips attacked straight from kick off with some great through balls creating chances for the strikers who given the long lay off looked rusty.
As the first half progressed Larkhall soon scored after a neat through ball by Jack Burns set up Jay Hill who rifles home from inside the box, 1-0.
More Larkhall pressure followed but to no avail, midway into the half Stonehouse then played a lovely diagonal ball to which their striker got in behind the right back and calmly slotted a lovely finish past the keeper.
The game seemed to stall as both teams started looking rusty, however it sparked back into life when Stonehouse scored an almost identical goal in which the same striker calmy finished off another well taken goal.
As first half drew to a finish some tidy midfield play and a break of the ball just outside the box was beautifully struck by Sam Worton into the top corner to end the first half.
Half Time : Larkhall United 2-2 Stonehouse BC
The second half started with Larkhall on the up after the late first half equaliser and this showed when after a period of pressure resulting in a corner which flighted over everyone for Sam Worton to connect with a half volley just inside the box which rocketed into the far corner to give Larkhall the lead.
Stonehouse seemed to tire more as the game went on and Larkhall clinched victory with an outstanding curved ball from Sam Worton direct to John McIntosh's feet, where he controlled, turned and cooly slotted the ball into the net.
The remainder of the game seemed to just pass the boys by as they looked jaded and fatigued after a two month lay off. Well done to all boys and coaches from both teams for good display of football and sportsmanship throughout.
