Milton fight back to victory against Falkirk

Written by  Milton FC

Fixture: Milton FC v Falkirk FCF
Competition: Under 13's Forth Valley FDL
Venue: Alva Academy
Date: 31/01/15
Due to weather conditions this game was relocated to Alva Academy, whilst conditions underfoot were fine, the wind caused havoc for both teams.
Falkirk won the toss and forced Milton to play against the wind in the first half, play was difficult but Milton tried to take the game to the opposition, keeping the ball on the ground.
Falkirk used the conditions to their advantage with the ball staying in the Milton half, with Milton counter attacking when possible.
It wasn't long before the deadlock was broken with Falkirk scoring, with Milton losing possession down the right and allowing the Falkirk winger to make a pass across Milton box, the Milton defence were caught sleeping and the Falkirk striker was first to pounce on the ball and slotted home.
Falkirk continued to press in the first half but could not extend their lead.

The second half began with Milton having the wind and they attacked from the off.
Within five minutes of the restart Milton scored with Blythe reacting first to a loose ball and making space before slotting home the equaliser.
Milton continued to press using the wind to keep Falkirk in their own half, but without any success.
Stevenson made the Falkirk goalkeeper work on several occasions.
With two minutes to go Milton scored, Falkirk were defending deep when Blythe's shot on goal was unfortuantely spilled by the Falkirk keeper, which in turn allowed  McShane to pounce on the loose ball and he made no mistake in putting his side ahead.
The game wasn't finished with Falkirk going on the attack from the centre forcing a across into the back post area of Milton's goal, which was met by the Falkirk striker who fortunately for Milton, blazed his effort high and over the bar.
